The core issue is not the existence of an isolated market, but the quality of the assets allowed within it. MAMO, the protocol's own governance token, was accepted as collateral. The longer-term impact will be a renewed focus on oracle security and a demand for more robust price feeds, perhaps even moving beyond simple spot price oracles to those that incorporate liquidity depth and time-weighted averages. Standardization survives the chaos of collapse. The protocols that will thrive are those that adopt a standardized, rigorous framework for assessing collateral risk, one that treats every asset as a potential attack vector until proven otherwise. The question for Moonwell is not whether it can recover the $4 million, but whether it can rebuild the trust that was lost in a single transaction. The data will tell. Watch the protocol's TVL, watch the MAMO price, and watch the governance forums. The next signal will be the team's response. Will they implement a more robust oracle solution?
