There's comfort in knowing exactly where the tollbooth is, but if the bridge goes down, you're stuck on the wrong side of the river. BitGo has decided the tollbooth is Chainlink's. The question isn't whether that's a good decision in 2026. The question is whether the underlying trust assumptions will still hold when the next black swan arrives. "Tracing the trail from NFT peaks to DeFi valleys," I've seen too many protocols fall apart because they chose convenience over resilience. This time, I'm not sure BitGo had a choice. Institutional capital wants clarity, and clarity requires concentration. The race isn't about bridging chains anymore. It's about who gets to be the single point of trust.
